COMMUNITY HUBS INITIATIVE

Supporting Youth During a Pandemic

The Community Youth Center of San Francisco (CYC) was the anchor agency for the Community Hubs Initiative at the SFPL Ingleside Branch Library. Out of many community hubs created in San Francisco during the COVID-19 pandemic, the CYC Community Hub distinguished itself by its organization's history serving API youth in San Francisco for over 50 years.

Graphics bring brand identity to newsletters, flyers, and other program material. The water droplet border brings subtle depth and dimension. The droplets pointing towards and away the center reinforce the idea of community. While the ripple effect enforces the impact our actions have on others.

SAFETY FIRST

Safety materials had to be created and posted around the campus to ensure youth wore face masks, maintained social distance, and satanized their workstations every two hours.

The program offered academic, technology, and wellness supports to high-needs and underprivileged middle school youth during the school district's COVID-19 pandemic closure.

FAMILY ENGAGEMENT

A monthly newsletter was created and designed to inform and engage students' family members, who were unable to enter the Library campus due to COVID-19 safety restrictions.
